[:nl]Stichting “Pro Afrika” heeft in 2004 de zorgboerderij in Mount Darwin (Zimbabwe) mee helpen opbouwen (zie oude projecten) . De laatste jaren is vanwege de klimaatverandering en overall-watertekort in Zimbabwe echter weinig terecht gekomen van het benutten van de akkerbouw en veeteelt-aktiviteiten. Daar kwam nog de corona crisis bij , waardoor George geen mogelijkheden kon creeeren om inkomsten uit de toeristenindustrie te reserveren voor het weeshuis. Te weinig irrigatie mogelijkheden en te weinig water voor het vee betekende helaas een achteruitgang van het project.
Wij gaan nu ( januari 2021) , samen met George Seremwe en zijn stichting “Child Future Africa) , de draad weer oppakken om het project opnieuw selfsupporting te laten worden. We zijn in overleg met hem hoe we dit samen gaan doen.[:en]The “Pro Africa” foundation helped build the care farm in Mount Darwin (Zimbabwe) in 2004 (see old projects). In recent years, however, due to climate change and overall water shortage in Zimbabwe, little has come of the exploitation of arable farming and animal husbandry activities. Added to this was the corona crisis, which prevented George from creating opportunities to reserve income from the tourism industry for the orphanage. Too few irrigation possibilities and too little water for the livestock unfortunately meant a decline of the project.
We will now (January 2021), together with George Seremwe and his foundation “Child Future Africa), pick up the thread again to make the project self-supporting again. We are in consultation with him on how we will do this together.[:]
